Temporary Service Disconnection

You can have your service temporarily disconnected without closing your account by calling (575) 533-6276 or (575) 533-6581 (After Hours Emergencies). If you plan on being gone for a full month call before the 1st of the month and you will not be charged for the base rate during the disconnection period. 

Please note the valve in your home's meter box may not be used by anyone other than Utility Department personnel, doing so will result in a $300 tampering fine. All service connections are required to have a separate "customer valve" to turn the water on and off.
